The total reserve in notes and bullion ia the Bank of England is £15,400,000, an increase of £300,000 during the week. The proportion of reserve to liabilities continues at 48 per cent. The Bank rate of discount remain at 2_ per cent., and the market rate at l g . Consols are unchanged at 101 _, and New Zealand securities as follows:—Five per cent. 10.40 loan, 104 ; five per cent. 1889 loan, 102}; four and a half percent. 1879----1904 loan, 102];; four per cent, inscribed stock, 100 J. The market for colonial breadstuffs and tallow are without quotable change. At to-day's wool sale 12,100 bales were offered. The market continues firm. Sydney, Friday. New Zealand wheat, 4/- per bushel, New Zealand oats, 2/10; maize, 4/-; sugar, Company's No. 1 pieces, per ton, £34.
