The sculling match between Hanlon and Laycock took place on Nepean river this afternoon, and resulted in a victory for the former by half a length. Hanlon never exerted himself, and Avon as he liked. (Received May 22, 10 p.m.) The folloAving are the details of the boat race this afternoon:—For the first quarter of a mile the boats were level, and the competitors both appeared to be roAving a waiting race. Hanlon then increased the speed, and at the half mile was leading by two lengths. Laycock then spurted, but Hanlon answered apparently without exerting himself, and kept the lead for tho remainder of the race, finishing half a length ahead, time, 22 mins 45 sees. There was a large attendance of spectators.
