Messrs Thomas Crosse, J. C. Stewart, S. Scruby, and John Gollau havo taken out shooting licences for the game season. _ The Public "Works Department in-v-ite tenders for the Danevirkc contract (construction of permanent way) of the NapierWoodville railway. Tho Hawke's Bay County Council invito tenders for the construction of dray roads between Okawa and Tunanui, and between Tunanui and Mangawahre. A cheque on tho Colonial Bank for £2 9.1 lOd, drawn by Russell Duncan in favor of J. Tucker, has been lost, and persons are cautioned in dealing with same, as payment is stopped. Mr A. Robertson, White road bakery, has a four-roomed cottage to let. Messrs Blythe and Co. have flannels and blankets imported direct from the makers, no better value. The Bon Marche has Kaiapoi flannels and fingerings in every shade, and takes orders for socks and stockings to be knitted. Mr Chissell, Theatre Royal store, has fresh oysters by the kit or bottle, smoked fish, fruit, &c. Mr D. C. Hitohmanis selling lollies, Sec, wholesale, at lowest rates, quality and purity guaranteed.
