The Masonic Hotel at Coromaiidel was totally destroyed by fire at 1 o'clock this morning. Nothing was saved. The Oddfellows lost regalia worth £50. The insurance on the building is £900, and on tho furniture £200 in tho Norwich Union office. Dunedin, This day. 'Three wooden shops in George •f'.rcet were burned down early this mornn.,L,--"They were occupied by Thomas Scott (fruiterer), Alexander and Shepherd (butchers), and David Miller (grocer). Scott's stock was insured in the Equitable office for £100, Shepherd's for £200 in the London and Lancashire office, and Miller's for £600 in the Hamburg and Madgeburg office. The latter is a partial loss. The buildings were insured by the owner, Mr James Galbraith, of London, in the London and Lancashire office for £GOO. The fire is supposed to have been caused by a spark from an open fireplace in Scott's shop.
