Squad of Rifle Volunteers parade for bayonet exercise in front of Atheiueum at
7.45 to-night. Robson's Mirror of the Egyptian War and other views, with gift distribution, will be exhibited at Hastings to-night. Road Board elections take place to-mor-row as follows between the hours of 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. :—Taradale s;hool-room, for election of two members for Meanee riding ; Clive Public Hall, for election of two members for Clive ward; Havelock Mechanic's Institute, for election of two members. Tho first quarterly meeting of the Hawke's Bay Teacher's Association will be held in the Napier district school at 11 a.m. to-morrow. Messrs Monteith and Co. sell horses, pro--1 duce, poultry, dogs, and the en tiro horse Pope without resoi'Te at the Horse Bazaar at 11.30 a.m. to-morrow. The ratepayers of the Tamumu Highway district hold their annual meeting in the Tamumu school-house at noon to-morrow, and those of the Puketapu district in the Puketapu school-room at 1 p.m. The raffle for S. Oatham's work of art will take place at Messrs Large and Townley's on Monday next. The annual meeting of ratepayers in the Havelock Road' Board district will be held on Tuesday next. Messrs W. R. Russell, A. Shield, and F. S. Waterhouse have been nominated members of the Okawa Road Board. Messrs James Ross, F. H. Stevens, J. Witherow, G. H. M. White, Walter Hallett, J. G. Wilson, and Rev. F. E Simcox have taken out shooting licenses for the game season. Messrs. Woodcock and West's patent barbing tools, barbs, and barbed wires can be obtained from merchants and ironmongers in Napier and district. " A.8.," Daily Telegeaph office, wants an unfurnished or partly furnished room. Messrs Blythe and Co. have choice new patterns in costumes. Trespassers with dog or gun on tho Tomoana, Maxwell Lea, or Mangateretero estates, will be prosecuted. Statements of the receipts and expenditure, assets and liabilities, &c, of the Hawke's Bay County Council, are published for general information. Messrs Large and Townley have on view a consignment of works of art and rare books, which will bo sold at special rates. Mr Alexander Browne, Hastings-street, is now showing extensive shijiments of winter drapery and clothing. See prices quoted in Sir Browne's advertisements. " M.5.," TELEGEAPn office, wants board and lodging for a young gentleman. Mr J. Goddard, of the Havelock Nurseries, has fruit, forest, and ornamental trees, shrubs, plants, &c, for sale. Mr Jacobs wants footballers to know that he has just received a new stock of Rugby footballs. A piece of brown cloth ladies embroidery work has been lost, and finder will oblige by leaving same at Messrs Large and Townley's. Mr D. C. Hitchmanis selling lollies, &c, wholesale, at lowest rates, quality and purity guaranteed. A number of new advertisements will be found in our '' Wanted column.
