Mr Rolleston was on his way to Hanmer Plains on Tuesday when the accident happened through which he narrowly escaped drowning. The springs of the front seat of the buggy came out with a jerk, and Mr Rolloston, the driver, and Mr Low, of St. Helens, were pitched over. The others soon got out, one on the carriage pole and the other on a horse, but Mr Rolleston was carried against the wheels, and was under water for some time. Eventually ho came to the surface, and made his way to the bank.
