Proofs of debt in the estate of Richard Wood will be received by Mr Brooking up to Tuesday, in order to enable a first and final dividend to be declared. Mr D. Ryan invites tenders for the erection of an hotel at Wallingford. Mr Brooking has Napier town section No. 312 for sale. A lady wants board and residence near Tost Office. Tho members and friends of Lodge Pride of Hawkc'.i Bay, I 0.G.T., hold a pic-nic in Farndon Park on Monday, train leaving at 11.20 a.m. In addition to tho building allotments to bo sold by Messrs Hoadley, Lyon, and Co. on Tuesday, section No. 0, North Hastings, will be offered. A soiree and concert in connection with the Presbyterian Church will be givejn in the Mechanic's Institute, Havelock, on Tuesday evening. The annual ploughing match of tho Waipawa County Association will be held on the 29th May. The 37th call of 3d per share in tho Southern Cross Petroleum Company is now dne and payable at the company's office in Christchurch. Mr Alexander Browne, Hastings street, will open in a few days, per Himalaya from London, a largo shipment of general drapery and clothing, to be sold at a small profit to clear. Mr Prebble is in receipt of consignment of Nelson russets. A brown gelding has been impounded at Napier, and, if not redeemed, will be sold on the 25th instant. Robson's Colossal Mirror of the Egyptian War, with gift distribution, will be exhibited in'the Theatre Royal on Monday evening. Messrs Smith and Wake's evening classes for instruction in English subjects will be held in the Napier district school every Tuesday and Friday. Messrs Hardy and Sidey have just received advices of their season's shipment of guns, comprising a splendid assortmont, to arrive in a few days ex s.s. Tongariro ; also a further shipment of table and dessert cutlery and electro-plated knives and forks, being sold at prices cheaper than ever. An assortment of the celebrated Wcrthcim treadle and hand machines are now being opened at tho New Zealand Clothing Factory. Inspection solicited. Mr Lyndon continues tho clearing sale of Mr Taylor's stock-in-trade without reserve on Wednesday. Mr C. 11. Beauchamp, Hastings, offer.-) 10s reward for the recovery of a black and tan collie pup, lost from Mr Griffiths' stables. An election of three membra of theMoauee Road Board is fixed to be held on the 3rd May, and nominations of candidates must bo made to tho returning officer, Mr P.
