DESPATCHES FROM GORDON PASHA

ENCOUNTERS WITH THE REBELS.— GORDON VICTORIOUS. DISARMING OF MUTINOUS SOLDIERS. (Received April 10, 3.20 p.m.) CAIRO. April 9. Despatches now to hand from General Gordon, dated the 30th March, state that the rebels in the neighborhood of Khartoum number under two" thousand. Desultory fiirhting has taken place between them and tho Egyptian troops forming the garrison of Khartoum. The latter have been victorious in all encounters, and many rebels have been killed. General Gordon further reports that two hundred Bashi Bazouks (Egyptian irregulars), having proved mutinous, were at once disarmed without disturbance.
