Dunedin, This day. John Reid, in the employ of Mr Find'lay, timber merchant, while measuring timber being landed from the barque Enterprise at Port Chalmers wharf was struck by a piece of black pine fourteen feet long, fracturing his skull. Tho deceased was 50 years of age, and unmarried.
