"Olivette" will bo performed at the Theatre Royal to-night by the Eoyal Comic Opera Company, commencing at 7.45. An excursion train for the opera leaves Waipukurau at t 5-5 p.m., calling at intermediate stations, and returning to Hastings after the conclusion of the performance. Woodyear's Electric Circus shows at Waipukurau to-night. Mr Lyndon sells Wairoa apples, cheese, Canterbury flour, tea, Arrol's ale, furniture, and other goods by auction at his mart at 11 a.m. to-morrow.
Mr Beri B. Johnson sells by auction the working plant of Messrs Duncan and Peebles at the Empire sale yards, Waipawa, at 11 a.m. to-morrow, Messrs Hoadley, Lyon and Co. hold their fourth wool Scale of the season at their wool stores at 2 p.m. to-morrow. The share list of the Hawke's Bay Gold Mining Prospecting Association closes tomorrow, or as soon as full number of shares arc subscribed.
The nominations of candidates for the Petano Licensing Committee arc gazetted, and a poll will be taken on Saturday for the election of five therefrom.
The programme of the H.B. Jockey Club's steeplechase meeting, together with dates of nominations, acceptances, ifcc, to be held on Hastings course in June next, is published.

"The Joker" has opened a consultation on the Hawkc's Bay Steeplechase, in which there is about one hundred prizes. Mr S. G. Radford, Hastings-street, is in receipt of winter drapery and clothing, an 4 publishes list of prices for bargains now being offered. Juvenile tricycles can be had on easy terms from the Standard Sewing Machine Company, Hastings-street. Tenders are wanted for building a fiveroomed cottage at Meanee.
