Open to all horses that have never won an advertised race exceeding 25 soys in value. Winner of any such race after entry to carry 71b penalty—Weightf or-age. Welter Handicap—Of 100 soys: second horse to receive 20 soys from the stake ; distance, 2 miles. Nomination, 2 soys on Tuesday, March 4. Weights to be declared on Tuesday, March 11. Acceptance, with 3 soys, at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 13. Minimum weight, 9st 71b. Napier Handicap—Of 500 sovs;_ second horse'to receive 50 soys, and third horse to receive 20 soys from the stake; distance, one and three-quarter mile. Nomination, 2 soys, on Tuesday, December 18. Weights to be declared on Friday, February 8. Acceptance, with 5 soys. on Tuesday, February 19. Final payment of 8 soys on night of general entry. The winner of any handicap of the value of 300 soys after the declaration of the weights to carry 10lb extra ; of the value of 200 soys, 71b extra ; of the value of 100 soys, 51b extra. Penalties not accumulative. Nursery Plate—Of 100 soys; for 2-year-olds. Distance, half-a-mile. Entrance, 5 soys. Colts' Bst 51b; fillies and geldings, Sst 2lb. Railway Stakes Handicap—Of 125 soys; second horse to receive 20 soys from the stake ; distance three quarters of a mile. Nomination, 1 soy, on Tuesday, December 18. Weights will bo declared on Friday, February 8. Acceptance, with two soys, on Tuesday, February 19. Final payment of 3 soys on night of general entry. Second Day, Tuesday, March 18. Grand Stand Handicap—Of 150 soys ; second horse to receive 20 soys from tho stake ; distance, 2 miles. Nomination, 2 soys, on night of general entry. Weights will be declared on night of first day's races. Acceptance, with 5 soys, by 11 p.m. on night of first day's races. Provincial Produce Stakes—Of 125 soys ; second horse to receive 25 soys from the stake; distance, 1 mile. Entrance, 6 soys. Weight-for - age: for ali horses bred in the Provincial District of Hawke's Bay that have never won a race exceeding 25 soys in value. Winner of any such race after entry to carry 71b penalty. Handicap Hurdle Race—Of -150 sovsi second horse to receive 25 soys from the stake; distance, about two-and-a-half miles. Nomination, 3 soys on Tuesday, December 18. Acceptance, with 3 soys, by 11 p.m. on night of first day's races. | Consolation Handicap—Of 50 soys; distance, one mile. Entrance, 2 "soys. For all beaten horses. Acceptances to be notified to the Clerk of the Scales not later than 15 minutes after declaration of weights. RULES AND REGULATIONS. ' No entry will be received for any race j except upon the condition that all claims, f disputes, and objections arising shall be decided by the Stewards, or whom they may appoint, and their decision upon all points shall be final. All nominations, entries, and acceptances, accompanied -by the necessary amount in ' cash, must be addressed to the secretary, and left at the Criterion Hotel, Napier,, not later than 8 p.m. on the several specified dates, except where otherwise stated. The rules and weights of the Hawke's Bay Jockey Club will be strictly adhered to. Five per cent, will be deducted from the ' gross amount of all stakes. !
