Nominations, general entries, and final payments for the Jockey Club's autumn meeting next month close on Tuesday evening next. A general meeting of creditors in the estate of John Sutherland is convened for Friday next, when the debtor makes application for a certificate of compliance with the Bankruptcy Acts.
A requisition is being taken roundfor signatures in favor of a candidate to stand at the next general election, the electors are requested to defer signing until they know who the other candidates are.

Parker, returning officer, publishes tho official declaration of the election of Licensing Committees for the borough, and appoints the first meeting of the committee to be held on Friday next for electing chairman. Mr T. R. Cooper invites tenders for additions and alterations to a dwelling in Carlyle street. The Napier Clothing Hall will offer all goods at slaughtering prices during the month of March, and quotes prices. Mr R. H. Robinson, Emerson street, has received his third shipment of gentleman's three guinea black worsted suits, which are in great demand. Mr F. Algar, financial, land, and commission agent, has an office in Napier opposito the Herald office. Mr J. H. Vautier, on and after tomorrow, reduces the cash price before delivery for best Newcastle coal. One hundred pick and shovel men for the railway works between Matamau and Tahoraite are wanted.
Outstanding rates due to tho Meanee Road Board mnst be paid to the collector, Mr John Collinge, by 1-ith March, or they will be sued for.
Men's ties aro being offered at sale prices at the Napier Clorhing Hall. Mr Alexander Browne, Hastings-street, is now offering his whole stock at specially reduced prices. A number of new advertisements will be found in our "Wanted column."
