ROYAL COMMISSION TO REPORT ON HOUSING OF LONDON POOR.
FALL OF TO'KAB, AND SURRENDER OF THE GARRISON. (Received February 25, 0.40 a.m.) LONDON. February 22. _ The homeward mails via Suez and Brindisi, per Orient steamship Iberia, from Melbourne on January 12, were delivered today. Yielding to the demand of public opinion, as expressed by the Press, and otherwise throughout Great Britain, the Government has appointed a Royol Commission to report upon the housing of the poor 111 London and suburbs, and to devise means for the amelioration of their condition, if such should be found necessary.
