He immediately went to his brother Alfred, told tho story, and asked for advice. Alfred volunteered_ to personate the brother, and stand for him. Tho ceremony took place on October 21, the couple remaining at the home of the bride's parent*. Alfred foil in love with tho girl, and a week after the marriage •toldher of the deception. In her indignation she ordered him from the house. She then informed hor parents, and the father started after his aon-in-law with a shotgun, and has followed Alfred to New York, where he is supposed to have fled.
