Will hold their Annual Sale, as above, and —have been instructed to offer— On account of Thomas Tanner, Esq., Riverslea, Hawke's Bay— CkXQ 2-TOOTH PURE LINCOLN /300 RAMS. in i. TOOTH PURE LINCOLN Jlu rams. 01 6 - tooth pure lincoln /OL RAMS 1 Q 8 - TOOTH PURE LINCOLN XO RAMS. Bred by the vendor. These rams are from Mr. Tanner's Stud Flock by Dudding and Vesey rams out of imported ewes and ewes purchased from Mr. Philip Russell, Otupo, Canterbury (whoso entire Stud Flock Mr. Tanner secured) and are superior to any that have yet been offered by this celebrated breeder, and as the 2-tooths have been carefully selected, intending purchasers may rely upon getting the most valuable stock for stud purposes. The 4, 6, and Btooth Rams having been used in the Riverslea Stud Flock is a sufficient guarantee of their excellence. At the Hawke's Bay Agricultural and Pastoral Society's Annual Show held last October, Mr. Tanner carried everything before him as the following list of prizes won by his exhibits will testify. Lincoln Ram Hoggets, Ist, 2nd, and 3rd prizes; 4-tooth Rams, 2nd and 3rd prizes ; 6-tooth and upwards, Ist Prize and Champion ; Ewe Hoggets, Ist prize; 4-tooth Ewes, Ist and 2nd prizes and champion; 6-tooth and upwards, Ist, 2nd, and 3rd prizes ; Ewo any ago without lamb Ist, 2nd, and 3rd prizes; also Messrs. Hoadley, Lyon & Co.'s Cup for 20 ewe hoggets; the N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency's Cup for 5 Rams; Messrs. Murray, Roberts & Co.'s Cup for 10 Ewes with lamb at foot; and Messrs. Banner and Liddle's Cup for 5 dry Ewes. In the face of such a record it is almost needless to further extol these sheep, but for the information of buyers we may state that this result has been arrived at after careful and judicious selections from the best flocks in the colony. At considerable expense the picked sheep of the south have been secured by Mr. Tanner and competent judges have expressed their opinion that Mr. Tanner's Stud Flock could not now be beaten in the colony. Mr. Tanner offers a Silver Cup (value ten guineas) annually for the best pen of three Lincoln Rams exhibited at the Hawke's Bay Agricultural and Pastoral Society's Show, bred by himself (donor not competing.)
