THE FATAL HURRICANE AT RAROTONGA.
Auckland, This day.
Captain Prayte and Kelly (the mate), of the wrecked schooner Pirate, arrived here by the cutter Daphne, from Rarotonga. Tho Pirate was wrecked off Manihikie. Captain Munu leaves a widow and four children, resident in Auckland. Captain Ayres leaves a widow and three children. General regret is felt at tho untimely death, of these gallant seamen in the gale at Rarotonga. The schooner Flora, which arrived at Rarotonga four days after the gale and had encountered it, reported that the glass had gone down to 29-20, and that at the time of the height of the hurricane the crew were obliged to cut holes in the bulwarks of the vessel to allow the seas that were constantly flooding the decks to escape.
