Carion and party, who havo been prospectimr in the upper Mokihinui district for some months past, arrived in toAvn tj-day Avith 17 ounces of alluvial gold, tho result of twelve days' AVork. Tho gold included nuirgets ranging from -1 or sdwt. downwards, and "also fine gold. The locality Avlierc the gold avus got is equi-distautfrom Mohikinui and Ret f ton, and the Lycll is Avithin easy Avalking distance. The gold was got at the edge of a creek Thirty men are now on the ground. No Avork has yet been done in any of the claims but the prospectors'. They say that the value of the discovery cannot bo stated.
