WAIPAWA COUNTY COUNCIL.

Tho following business waH transacted at the sitting of the above Council yesterday : — Resolved, on tho motion of Cr. Bibby, that the engineer get tho slip on the road leading to Waipawa railway station cleared away, and make that portion of the road its full width. Cr. Smith moved that £100 be voted _to tho Waipukurau Road Board for formation works on Waipukurau terraces. —Carried. Rosolved. on tho motion of Cr. Smith, that tho Porangahau Road Board bo voted £50 to bo spent on the Mangaone road. Resolved, on tho motion of Cr. Fountaine, that the engineer bo authorised to expend £200 on Harding's road, from Kumeroa village to the main road, the first contract to be for felling timber; also that £100 be spent in metalling Pinfold's road; and that the clerk write to Mr Baker, chief surveyor, requesting him to lay off a proposed deviation on Pinford's road. Cr. Ross proposed that tho chief survoyor bo requeseed to make a deviation of tho Makaretu road through AVebster's section ; that £50 subsidy be voted to the Tukapau Road Board to bo spent on the road leading from Thomson's to Ellison's; that the Central Ruataniwha Road Board bo granted a subsidy of £10 for a deviation of tho road running by Steed's; and that £200 bo granted the Makaretu Road Board to assist that Board in making roads.—Carried. Cr.' Smith moved that the dog tax for tho year irrespective of hreed be 6s.—Carried.
