"I Q SECTIONS in the above Block, JLO comprising an area of 24,9G0 acres, will be offered for sale on immediate payments at Napier, on tho 17th January, ISS4. Upset price from 6/- to 10/- per acre. At the same time and place 5 sections in the same block, comprising an area of 48G5 acres, will bo offered for lease for depasturing purposes for a period of ten years at an upset price per annum of from £7 10/- to £50 a section. The Ruakituri Block is situated in the County of Wiiiroa, about 12 miles from the Township of Clyde. It extends some 20 miles to the westward from the Gisborne-Wairoaroad, and lies between the Ruakituri and Mangaruhe rivers. The main road from Wairoa to_ Gisboro passes close to the eastern side of the block. Thirty-three miles of bridle roads on tho permanent grades and seven miles of stock-driving roads, havo been opened to these lands. The whole block, with the exception of a few flats on tho Ruakituri River, is pastoral country. The vegetation consists of fern on the spurs and in the valleys, and of scrub and bush in the steep" trullies. The soil varies; in places it is light, and mixed with a slight coating of pumice, in other parts where the pumice drift has been washed down the bteop hill sides it is a calcareous clay. The sub-soil is marl; on the higher hills there is an overlap of sandstone and a little limestone near Te Tuhi. These lands will take grass by surfaee-sowinir : the average co.st for fencing, seed-sowing, Are., is from 20/----to 30/- per acre. , Maps may be seen at all the principal Land Offices throughout the Colony.
