The opening of the new Public Hall at Taradalo will be celebrated by a dramatic and musical performance by the local Amateur Club this evening, commencing at 8 o'clock.
The members of the Loyal Napier Lodge of Oddfellows' hold their half-yearly meeting at 8 o'clock this evening at the usual place. Captain Blythe will be in attendance at the orderly room between 8 and 9 o'clock to-night to enrol members for the Kiflc Volunteers.
Mr Lyndon sells two boxes of damaged goods ex Triumph and tea and Califomiaii onions by auction at his mart at 11 a.m. to-morrow.
Tenders for the supply and delivery of 10,000 sawn or hewn totura sleepers on the Napier-Woodville railway will be received ill. the Public Works ofiiee, Kopua, up to noon to-morrow.
Mr Mouteith sells the privileges of the recreation sports on New Year's Day at the Horse J3azaar at 11..'30 a.m. to-morrow, also hacks and trap horsos, spring- cart, harness, &c. The Artillery Volunteers parade sit the gun shed at 4 p.m. to-morrow in undress uniform, with side arms, to fire for the Government ordnance prizes. Tenders for the purchase of the lease (twenty years to run) of the Abcrcorn Arms Hotel, Woodville, will be received by the trustees not later than to-morrow.
Messrs Blythc and Co. quote prices for white lace and satin stripe muslins. Mr E. Cameron, who has rooms at the Clarendon Hotel, announces that hs will cure any person with impediment in the speech. Mr Monteith has <i small i'arm at Ruataniwha, containing about sixty acres, for sale.
The Union Company's annual excursion to the Sounds this year will bo by the steamship Tarawera, leaving- Port Chalmers on the 9th proximo, the connecting steamer being the Manapouri on the oth. The Tarawera rcjmats the trip on the 19th. The finder of a ladies' silver bracelet, lost between St. John's Church and Cameron road, will be rewarded on returning same to office of this paper. Two hundred and fifty bales have already been entered for Messrs Banner and Liddle's next wool sale, which will he held on Thursday, January 17th. Messrs Hardy and Sidey have for sale kerosene—Palace l.jOdeg. test, Paragon 13')deg. test, and Royal Diamond 130deg. teit.
