GOLD DISCOVERY IN NEW SOUTH
WALES
WOMAN OUTRAGED AND MURDERED NEAR SYDNEY.

A fresh discovery of gold has been made near Temora, and the reports from the field arc causing great excitement. Permau and party have unearthed a nugget weighing 7-_ ounces, and many claims have been pegged out.
A serious tragedy has occured at Waterloo, a suburban township two and a half miles from the city. A woman of the vagrant class named Catherine Owen was found cruelly outraged and murdered. The perpetrators of tho crime have not yet been discovered.
