CORRESPONDENCE.

CORRECTIONS

[TO THE EDITOR OF THE DAILY TeIEOKAI'II.] Urn, -Your " devil" has been at his pranks in setting up my letter on the harbor question by omitting several lines, and altering in this way the whole sense. He makes mo say tlmt I have never expressed such a foolish Opinion tlmt future has jjivon to Napier in its estuary great facilities for a harbor, while I have said " on the contrary, J have been always of the opinion " that

Nature has given. . . . The words in italics have been omitted. Further on ho has left out "Tho present works have been made abortive by our refusal to act upon the advice of these engineers " (.Sit- John Coode, etc., etc). There is a system in your " devil's" blunders that stamp him as a "breakwater-devil." However, I feel sure that you will kindly consent to this correction, as the harbor question is of such vital importance to this district that the Press should readily open its columns to all sides. Tho more the question is ventilated the less likely we arc to blunder. In this instance I have the additional claim to a fair hearing, that my letter was written in self-defence against personal charges made in your columns. —I am, &c, Charles Weber. Napier, 22nd October, 18S3.
