"I Q SECTIONS in the above Block, JLO comprising an area of 2-1,9G0 acres, Avill be offered for sale on immediate payments at Napier, on tho f 7th January, 1881. Upset price from 6/- to 15/- per acre. At the same timo and place 5 sections in the same block, comprising an area of '1865 acres, Avill be offered for lease for depasturing purposes for a period of ten years at an upset price por annum of from £7 10/- to £50 a section. Tho Ruakituri Block is situated in the County of AVairoa, about 12 miles from the ToAvnship of Clyde. It extends some 20 miles to the ivestward from the Gisborne-AVairoa road, and lies between the Ruakituri and Mangaruhe rivers. The main road from Wairoa to Gisborc passes close to the eastern side of the block. Thirty-three miles of bridle roads on the permanent grades and seven miles of stock-driving roads, have been opened to these lauds. The Avhole block, with the exception of a few fl-its on tho Ruakituri River, is pastoral country. Tho vegetation consists of fern on tho spurs and in tho valleys, and of scrub and bush iv the steep gullies. The soil varies; in places it is light and mixed with a slight coating of pumice, in other parts Avhere the pumice drift has been ivashed cloivn tho steep bill sides it is a calcareous clay. The sub-soil is marl; on tho higher hills there is an overlap of sandstone and a little limestone near Tc Tuhi. These lands Avill take grass by surface-sowing; tho average cost for fencing, seed-sowing, &c, is from 20/----to 30/- per acre.
