The unemployed held a meeting yesterday, and resolved to adhere to their refusal to accept 4s 6d per day. The ex-Mayor telegraphed to the Government the refusal of the unemployed to accept "so mean a pittance as 4s Gd a clay, weather permitting," and their determination to "use every lawful and constitutional means to shame the Government into finding reasonaldo work at reasonable wages for fho unemployed of Christoh urol l." They proposed to form a Working Men's Association.

Tho Government have refused to alter its decision re giving Avork to the unemployed, and the committee of the unemployed have resigned, telling the men to accept or reject the offer (4s Gd a day) as each individually prefers.
