This fine steamer, now on her maiden voyage, has been specially built for the New Zealand trade by Messrs. John Elder and Sons, of Glasgow, a firm famous for turning out the fastest boats of tho ago. No expenso has been spared in rendering her passage accommodation equal to that of any steamer afloat. Lithographed plans of her various saloons, &c, can bo seen at any of the Company's offices. She is specially timed to catch the FEBRUARY SALES, and will report at Madeira with that object. As she has a large portion of her cargo engaged at Port Chalmers (her first port of call) her space for wool will be limited, and early application for space is advisable. It is intended that, weather permitting, slio shall go through the Straits of Magellan and call at the beautiful harbor of Rio dc Janeiro. To be followed by the magnificent steamship— BRITISH KING, 3599 tons register, 2000 horse-power, J. Kelly, Commander. This eteamer will also be despatched for tho— February Salks, And as a largo portion of her homeward cargo will be shipped at Wellington, it will be necessary for intending shippers to secure her remaining space promptly. The saloon and state cabins are superbly fitted and arranged and provided with every requisite for the comfort of the passengers, who are provided with bedding and all cabin fittings. The dietary scalo is most liberal. Second-class and steerage accommodation is all that could be desired, and tho ships are commanded by experienced masters. The Company also charters ships of the highest class as required, and vessels are despatched from London to each of the principal ports of tho colony with strict punctuality every month. The Company has also ships loading homeward from Now Zealand. LIVERPOOL AGENCY. A Branch has been established in Liverpool, and vessels will be despatched at suitable intervals to the principals ports in New Zealand. NEW YORK AGENCY. Messrs R. W. Cameron and Co. have been appointed Agents for this Company, and a regular lino of vessels will bo laid on for the various ports in this colony to meet tho requirements of the trade. Arrangements for the passages of friends to and fro from tho colony, and also for the conveyance of cargo can be made at the Head Office, Christohurch or at any of tho Branches in tho colony. ' D.
