Nominations to be made before the start for the Hack Race, and acceptances to be notified to the Clerk of the Scales not Inter than 15 minutes after declaration of the weights. Rules and Regulations. No entry will be received for any race except upon the condition that all claims, disputes, and objections arising shall be decided by the Stewards, or whom they may appoint, and their decision upon all points shall be final. No qualification fee. The rules and weights of the Hawke's Bay Jockey Club will be strictly adhered to. Five per cent, will be deducted from the gross amount of all stakes. Horses walking over will receive 50 per cent, of the stakes. All nominations, acceptances, and general entries, accompanied by the necessary amount in cash, must be addressed to the Secretary, and left at the Criterion Hotel, Napier, not later than 8 p.m. on the several uudernoted dates. "Hack Hurdle Horse " is a horse that has never started in a weight-for-ago or handicap hurdle race or steeplechase. The winner of any handicap, after the declaration of weights, of £100, to carry 71b penalty, of £50 to carry 51b penalty. Maiden Plate—Of 25 soys., distance, 1| miles, weight-for-age; entrance £2 10s. For all horses that have never won Id soys. or over at time of entry, hack races excepted. Any horse winning £25 after time of entry to carry 71b penalty. Railway Handicap—Of GO soys., second horse to receive 10 soys. from the stake, distance, 1 mile. The winner of the AV.C.R. Handicap to carry 71b penalty. Nomination, 2 soys. ; acceptance, 3 soys. Hack Race—Of 10 soys., distance 1 mile, catch weights. Post entrance, 1 soy. Consolation Race—Of 10 soys., one mile, for all beaten horses. Post entrance, 1 soy. RULES. No person allowed to enter a horse unless he is a subscriber of at least one guinea to the Club. All disputes, claims, or objections to he decided by a majority of the stewards, or whom they may appoint, whose decision shall be final. All protests to be accompanied with a deposit of two guineas, to be forfeited if the protest is considered frivolous. Three horses to start in each race, or only half the money will be given. "Hack" shall mean a horse that has never started in a weight-for-age or handicap race. Acceptances for the Handicap Hurdle Race, W.C.R.C. Handicap, and the Railway Handicap, accompanied by the necessary amount in cash, and colors of riders, must be left with the secretary not later than 8 p.m. on the 22nd of December. Five per cent, deducted from the gross amount of all stakes. All races run under the H.B. Jockey Club rules and weights.
