The Arcadian Grove at tho Theatre Royal will be open from 3 to 5 this afternoon, and from 7 to 10 to-night. The members of the Napier Fire Brigade meet this evening- at the usual time and place for drill and practice. The Albion Lodge of Druids hold their anniversary dinner at the Clarendon Club Hotel at 8 o'clock to-night. First meetings of the creditors of John Calvert Wells, hawker, of Wuitangi, and Thomas Duekett, contractor, of Wairoa, take place at the Court House Napier, tomorrow, the former at 11 a.m., and the latter at noon.
The fancy bazaar and musical entertainment in aid of the Clive district school prize fund will be open in the school-room from 2 to 10 p.m. to-morrow. Applications for the post of caretaker for the grounds of the Agricultural and Pastoral Society must bo forwarded to the secretary, Mr Beilby, on or before to-morrow. Entries for tho Wiiipawa Cup, Handicap Hurdle Race, Athletic Club Handicap, and Bicycle Race, to be competed for at the Waipawa Athletic Club's annual sports, must be sent in to tho secretary, Mr Stcph ens, on or before to-morrow. Mr Lyndon sells by auction at his mart on Saturday a choice lot of Christchurch hams and bacon, tea, and other goods, to close consignments. Captain Blythe, of the N.R.V., issues company orders in reference to the district prize firing and the competition for marksmen's badges. The tenders for furniture for the Napier Hospital will be received up to Monday next.
Mr Ryan will dispose of by auction at Beeoroft'sßepository, Hastings, onWednes'T day next, without reserve, a number of mares and geldings, chiefly thoroughbreds from the Wairarapa district. At a meeting- of the creditors of U. W. Chapman yesterday the deed of arrangement made for their benefit was declared to be completely executed, and application will be made to the Supreme Court on the 22nd instant for a declaration to that effect.
Eight horses have boon impounded at Taradale, and, if not previously redeemed, will be sold on the 25th instant.
Mr L. Binnic has taken the Greenmeadows' Hotel, Taradale, and hopes to merit a share of public patronage. Messrs F. W. Collin.s and Co., Hastingsstreet, have pro boiio jiublieo chett'o j)latu — Hearts of Oak. Mr H. Montcitli wants to pnrchaso a number of wethers, ewes, and yearling steers. Mr J. H. Vautier has reduced the price of Newcastle coal, delivered to any part of Napier, for cash. Messrs Blytho and Co. have fresh novelties on the tables every day. A number of new advertisements will be found in our "Wanted " column.
