PRELIMINARY ADVERTISEMENT. ■jVTAPIER GIRLS' HIGH SCHOOL J_ i will bo opened on January 29, with Miss Hewitt as Lady Principal with efficient assistance. Tho teaching will comprise the subjects usually taught in a firstclass secondary school. The school year will be divided into three Terms. The school fees will be nine guineas one pupil; eight guineas each for two or more from one family. Board fees for boarders, £10 per annum. Tho space for boarders being limited, early application is invited, and priority will be according to time of application. Parents intending their children to attend the school as day pupils are invited to notify the same to enable the Board of Governors to make suitable arrangements. DAVID SIDEY, Hon. Sec. The average attendance for the quarter endingSeptember 30 was lol; the present average attendance is 170 ; the number on the roll is 231, and tho population is rapidly increasing. The salary as per Education Board scale would be for .in average attendance of 170, at the rate of £199 lGs per annum, with bonus for percentage of pupils passed, and fees for instruction of pupil teachers. Thtre is a good house, and artesian well. Applications from candidates classed below D 2 will not bo entertained. At tho first general mooting of Shareholders to bo held early in January next, appointments will be made, thus giving a voice to incoming .shareholders in the election of their Directory Bankers, Solicitors, and Officers. This Company is formed for the purpose of taking over from the old Company (known as the " Champion Copper Lode Mining Company, Limited,") their valuable property in Aniseed Valley, Nelson. The consideration being £20,000, but the shareholders in the old Company subscribe for the full number of 20,000 shares, tho terms of transfer in compensation for the property being as follows : — £1000 to be debited for application and allotment on the 20,000 shares to be subscribed for in the new Company. £3000 cash on formation of the Company. £3000 six months after formation, and the balance twelve months from date of registration, less calls made. The property consists of a lease of 800 acres from the Government dated tho 10th of December, 1881, and is for 21 years, with the right of renewal for a further 21 years ; the rent is as follows: —For tho next three years, £80 per annum, and after the expiration of tho year 18SG the rent is to be £200 per annum. Tho Company also holds a surface right over 100 acres which is thickly timbered, and also through the lease a most valuable water supply, and freehold of twenty acres, being the only adjacent site suitable for a township, and smelting works, which will undoubtedly be required sooner or later.
