BOROUGH PUBLIC WORKS RECOMMENDATIONS.

Tho Public Works Committeo of the Municipal Council held their usual meeting last evening, and agreed to recommend the Council as follows: — 1. That tho tenders of the Gas Company for lighting the streets for the ensuing year bo not accopted. 4. That the engineer's amended indent ■'for waterworks plant bo approved, and that tenders bo invited for tho supply of the plant, which must be delivered if possible within nine months from the acceptance of the tender. 5. That tho overseer's progress and recommendation, reports, the specification for night-soil contract, and the inspector of nuisance's report be approved and adopted. G. That Mr King bo informed that on and after the 11th inst. he is to tako sole charge of the waterworks machinery, and that no expenditure will bo alloAved (except on urgent necessity) Avithout tho authority of tho Council.
