THE LONGHURST CASE.—PRISONER GUILTY.
Wellington, This day. Tho Longhurst case has been settled. His Excellency tho Governor has informed Ministers that ho has gone fully into the several matters relating to this case, and regrets that ho can arriA'e at no other conclusion than that Longhurst is guilty of the crime of Avhich he Avas convicted in April, 1880, and that his release would be a grieA'ous miscarriage of justice and a serious injury to the public at large.
