The steamer Maori, Captain Anderson, got away for Wairoa at 12 o'clock last night, taking some passengers and a largo cargo. She is reported as having arrived at her destination at an early hour this morning. Tho s.s. Weka, Captain John Campbell, returned from the coast at about 10..50 a.m. this clay, and went alongside the ship Wairoa'to tranship her cargo of wool. The Union Company's steamer Southern Cross, Capfc. Ross, is telegraphed as having left Auckland at 8 o'clock last night, and (should reach here by Thursday morning. She will be brought inside to discharge her cargo, and at 1.00 p.m. the s-imo day is announced to steam for Wellington.
Tlie southerly wind which sprang up last night prevented tho steamer Sir Donald from leaving for Tongoio and Mor-angiangi.
The steamer Kiwi will finish di-chargiiur her cargo at the breastwork by this afternoon, and at f> p.m. is to leave for the coast and Wellington. Tho s.s. 'Go-Ahead, Capt. Plumley, is expected to arrive here to-morrow morning from Wellington imd thn South, _boin.tr announced to .steam hence for Wellington at 0 p.m. She is bringing a cargo of grain and brcadstulVs from thu South, and transhipment goods out of tho Pleionc from Wellington, and will be taking wool from for transhipment to the steamer Triumph. The Union Company's steamer Oniapt.-n?, Capt. Allman, is to leave Wellington at 11 o'clock to-morrow morning for the North, and is duo here on Thursday, lieing announced to leave for Gisbonie, Tauran-pi, and Auckland at 1.00 p.m. that day.
Messrs Shaw Savill and the Albion Company's Irtwpic Langstoue, Capt. Tonkin, is now rapidly filling up, and is expected 1o bo ready to sail before tho end uf the present, week. She is owned by Mr Thomas Fteuderson, juur., of Auckland. She is a wooden barque of 202 tons, built at New Brunswick in 1803. The hull is uninsured. Tho cargo of timber in insured partially in the Colonial ofliee for £'2G5, and the balance, which is unattainable, is insured in the Southern Insurance Company of Australasia. Tho steamship Australia takes for San Francisco from this port bullion for tho Bank of New Zealand valued at .£i!>, 17!>. Among the passengers is Mr Charles M'Cabc. On this occasion tho Australia is under the command of Captain Oheist, formerly chief officer of Iho vessel, who has recently been on leave of absence in England. The New Zealand Shipping Company arc advised by cabin of the arrival of the Doric lit Plymouth, all well, after a passage of under 42 days, including stoppages. Tho frozen meat is reported to be in prime condition.
