NAPIER HARBOR BOARD.
This Day. The Board met at '2.30 p.m. Present: Messrs J D. Ormond (chairman), Dolbel, Vautier, Neal, IT. Williams, W. C. Smith, J. A. Smith, and the Mayor. CORRESPONDENCE. The following correspondence was read: — From the Marine Department, stating that the harbor leases do not require the assent of tho Governor. From the Inspector of Nuisances, requesting that a section between tho railway and Carlylc street, opposite the Royal Hotel, be'filled in, otherwise proceedings will be instituted.—Resolved that the matter be reported on by the secretary at tho next meetimr. From Robert Dobson. requesting permission to remove and use about 3000 yards dredge material for the purpose of filling in section GO I, Port Ahuriri. — Application granted. " From the Acting District Railway Manager, pointing out that, the condition ot Ilin line of rails iifon» the wharf at the Spit renders it unfit for tin.' traffic of railway rolling .stock, and that as its condition was owing to the subsidence of the earthwork, and not through any neglect of the Railway Department, 'he trusted the Board woiiid undertake the work of making good the foundation at, an early date.—Resolved that a sum not exceeding £150 be expended on the work, under tho direction oi the engineer.
