A STRANGE STORY.

A AY. Taylor, Llano, Texas, writing to the editor of the Lampasas Daily Globe, says:—"A very singular discovery Avas made on the Gribblo ranch, located on the road between this place and your city. Mr Robert Gribblo, of the ranch, Avas rounding up a bunch of cattle and upon entering a secluded spot about one hundred yards from the road he suddenly came upon Avhat once had been an elegant carriage ; it was under a large tree, and was probably driven there for shelter from a storm. The tree Avas shattered by lightning, as Avas also a part of the carriage, within the closed curtains of Avhich Avero found the remains of three grown persons and a little girl, all sitling'bolt upright on the seats, as if in life ; "on the front setit Avere the driver and a little boy. At least tAvo or three yours must have elapsed since they met their singular fate, as their bodies are dried up, and resemble in appearance so many mummies, the skeletons of the horses remain, the tires of the Avheels are rusty and loose, and the leather top Avcather-Avorn and faded. A small travelling trunk contains a lot of clothing and travellers' outfit, also letters addressed to James G. Chamberlain, London, England. It is presumed they Avere tourists from England, Avho avc re journeying in their private conveyance, when the Angel of Death arrested them in their career and turned their fine equipage into their temporary tomb."
