The Loyal Hastings Lodge of OddfclloAvs celebrates its anniversary by a dinner and ball this evening, the dinner commencing at 7.80 in Kelly's hotel, Hastings. The members of tho Napier A r oluntecr Fire Brigade are requested to meet at 7.30 this evening for steam practice. The ratepayers of Napier hold a meeting in the Council Chamber at 8 o'clock to-night to consider the action of tho Government in reference to the Corporation offices. Tho annual trencral meeting of the members of the Clarendon Club will be hold at 8 o'clock to-night, Messrs Banner and Liddle hold an important sale of English clothing, &c, by auction at their rooms at 11 a.m. to-morroAv. The goods are now on view. Mr Ryan sells on the premises, Hastingsstreet, at 2 p.m. to-morroAV, under distress for rent, the household furniture and effects of Mr James Corbctt.
Tenders must be sent in to the Public AA'orks Office at AVellington not later than noon to-morrow for tho Tahoraito station buildinsrs contract.

James Corbett, of Napier, photographer, declares his inability to meet his engagements with his creditors, avlio hold their first meeting at the Court House, Napier, on Thursday, 20th instant. Jacob Faithful, care of Mr N. Jacobs, Post Office, Napier, has a consultation (shares 10s) open on tho Napier Handicap, to be run at Hastings on March 17th next.
Mr 11. AVilliams, ironmonger, is just opening a nice variety of new flower seeds. Mr F. E. Hamlin has the balance of section 35, and section 31, Hikutoto block, the goodwill of tho lease of Hikutoto paddocks, all at Clive, and Fitzroy Hou.-.c, Napier, for sale. Messrs Magill and Campbell, direct importers, Emerson-street, are offering great bargains on their shilling, half-crown, and five shilling tables. Grazing for cattle or horses ran be obtained on application to Mr C. J. Hardy, opposite AVeverley Hotel, new Taradale road.
