AA^ednesday. Messrs Goldsborough and Co. (limited) offered 7100 bales at'their avool sales today, and 0100 bales Averc sold, greasy realising up to 15d and scoured to 20d. A good demand was experienced, especially on the part of American and Continental buyers. This day. An enthusiastic meeting Avas held last night at the Toavu Hall for the purpose of bidding faroAvell to tho Rev. Charles Strong, late of the Scots Church, avlio leaves for England to-day. Tho "Presbyterian Assembly has for the past lavo days been discussing the Rev. Mr Maoraehane's charges against Mr Strong. The latter was invited to attend the Assembly last night, but declined, declaring that" the charges against him imputed dishonesty, and wero dishonorable.
