NEW ZEALAND RAILWAY COMPANY'S DEBENTURES PLACED ON LONDON MARKET.

LONDON. November 9. The Wellington - ManaAvatu Railway Company's debentures, Avhich Averc purchased by a syndicate some time ago, have iioav been placed on the market and .all taken up. As the Lord Mayor's Slioav passed through tho streets to-day, the new Lord Mayor, Mr R. N. Fowler, M.P., Avas hissed by the populace, Avhile Alderman Hodlcy, avlio had been rejected in the election, although tho senior Alderman avlio has not passed tho chair, Avas loudly cheered. An Australian avool trophy car and another of Ncav Zealand mutton formed part of the procession, and elicited loud cheers. M. Ferry's remarks are deemed reasonable so far as Noav Guinea is concerned, but equivocal as regards other possible Pacific {innexatious.
