Entries for the Wanderers' Bicycle Club sports, to be held on Friday, close at the club rooms at 8 o'clock to-night. A summoned meeting of St. John's Branch, H.A.0.8.5., is convened for 8 o'clock this evening, at the usual place, to consider report of land purchase committee. The brethren of the Shamrock Lodge of Loyal United Friends hold a meeting at 8 o'clock to-night. Messrs M. R. Miller and Potts sell a niunber of first-class quiet cattle -without reserve at Beocroft's yards, Hastings, at 1.30 p.m. to-morrow. At the daylight parade of the Rifle Volunteers to-morrow evening the men must appear in full dress, and carry Glengary cap under belt on left side. The cast of characters in the Peep Show Man and the Maid and Magpie, to bo produced at the Theatre to-morrow evening by the Napier Amateur Dramatic Club, is published. The Friendly Societies' procession starts from the Foresters' Hall, Dickens street, at 11.30 a.m. on Friday, and societies are desired to meet there at 11.15 sharp. Mr Badger lectures in St. John's schoolroom on Friday evening on the '' Laws of England and New Zealand." The prices of admission to the Petane racecourse on Friday are published. The members of the Loyal Napier Lodge of Oddfellows hold a ball in the Theatre Royal on Friday night. Air Monteith sells hacks and trap horses, draught colts, and a spring cart by auction at the Horse Bazaar on Saturday. Mr Ryan sells by auction at his mart on Saturday a bankrupt stock of gold and silver watches, jewellery, &c. The November ordinary meeting of the members of the Hawkc's Bay Philosophical Institute will be held at the usual place on Monday evening next. All accounts owing by the late Mrs Ellen Grant must bo sent in to the executors, Messrs G-. Faulknor and J. Bicknell. Mr D. Cotton has several hacks and harness horses for sale. Mr P. S. Macdonald announces that he will rc-commonco business in Hastings as tailor, &c, on Saturday, 17th instant. The result of " The General's " sweep on the New Zealand Cup is published. The finder of a gold albert, lost between Colledge's and the Clarendon Hotel, will be rewarded on leaving same at the office of this paper. Messrs Blythc and Co. have a capital assortment of girls' strap shoes under cost price. A number of new advertisements will be found in our " "Wanted " column.
