October. 30—Maori, s.s., for Wairoa, with ten native passengers. 31_Southorn Cross, s.s., for Gisborne and Auckland. Passengers — Mrs Dunn and six children, and Mr Shaw.

The Union Steamship Company's s.s. Southern Cross, Capt. Ross, arrived here last night from Wellington, and was berthed insido this morning at the breastwork, -where she discharged her cargo, some 30 tons. She sailed hence at 2 o'clock this afternoon for Gisborne and Auckland. Tho steamer Maori, Capt. Anderson, got away at 11 o'clock last night, taking a full cargo and a number of natives, for Wairoa Sho is reported as having arrived at her destination at an early hour this morning. The steamer Kiwi, Captain James Campbell, is to leavo Wellington this evening, and would thus bo duo here on Friday morning next. The Union Company's steamer Tarawera, from Sydney via Northern ports, is due here on Sunday morning, being advertised to steam for the South and Melbourne at 10 a.m. that day.
