As a racehorse Opawa proved himself a worthy descendant of his high lineage, having Avon some of the best contested races on this coast, giving lumps of a\-eight to his opponents. Asa three-year-old, after standing the season, he ran two weight-for-age races at Blenheim. As a four-year-old, after standing tho season, he won the AVanganui Stakes, £80, .veightfor age, beating Folly, Black Eagle, Satellite, Tambourini, and Maid of the Mill. The next day he came out again, and avou the AV.J.C. Handicap, of £170, carrying Sst 3lb, beating mne others, including Tambourini, Black Eagle, and Alaori AVced. Handicap, Ost 71b, and Wanganui Stakes, Aveight for age. Opuwa also Avon several other Avcll-contested races. It will bo seen, therefore, that Opa.va is well Avorthy of the attention of breeders, his pedigree being of the highest strains of winning blood, and his performances unequalled on this side of the Avorld. He is as sound as the day he Avas foaled, and possesses a constitution of unsurpassed excellence. His stock haA'c turned out well, as his first season's foals furnished Doncaster, Avinner of the Marlborough Spring Stakes. _ ' Terms—£s 5s for each marc, which feo Avill be returned should a mare not prove in foal.
