The Merchant; Shipping and Underwritoi'H , Association report the arrival at Plymouth to-day of the P. and O. steamship Australia from Melbourne (left August 28). Nkw Yoi!K, Oetoher 22. Arrived, ship Rebecca Cowell from Auckland (left July 0).

Tho barque-Tnsper, on her passage from Mauritius, passed through largo quantities of ice, and sighted one iceberg 6'oo feet high on July 22nd, when in bit. '17.30, long. 27. Captain Stannors reports that he High tod a complete field of ice, and as he had twice formerly run into the same field ho is of opinion that it is land covered with ice and snow, and this has also been seen by tho barque Elizabeth, and the brig Rio Logo, both vessels being owned by Mr Turner, tho owner of the Jasper.
