October. 2G—Southern Cross, s.s., for Wellington. Passengers—Rev. J. Shirriffs, and Mr and Mrs Meek.

The Union Steamship Company's s.s. Wairarajia, Capt. Chatfiold, arrived hero at an early hour this morning, and was tendered about 6 a.m. by the launch for inward mails and passengers, and by the ketch Three Brothers for her cargo, which was landed later on at tho breastwork. The outward passengers and mails for Southern ports and Melbourne will bo conveyed off by tho launch at 2 p.m. this day, tho steamer resuming her passage soon afterwards. The s.s. Sir Donald, Capt. Quinism, returned from "Waimarama yesterday after- | noon, bringing 60 bales of wool, which she transhipped to tho barque Langstone today. The steamer Maori, Captain Anderson, returned from Wairoa at 3 p.m. yesterday, bringing several passengers, 103 sacks of maize, and 25 bundles of sheepskins. She will bo leaving again for the same destination at .12 o'clock to-night. Tho fore-and-aft schooner Columbia, Capt. Conway, from Mercury Bay and Auckland, arrived hero (his morning, and was berthed inside at tho breastwork. She brings a caryo of drain pipes consigned to Messrs C. Dolbol and Co., and a deck load of timber for Mr Robert Holt. The p.s. Manaia, Captain Baxter, returned from Wairoa last evening, having called at the Mahia and Whakaki m mud. She will jr-ct away again for Wairoa on Monday evening next. Tho launch Bella, Captain Green, brought hor first load of wool in from Clive yesterday, consisting of some 60 dmnjis, which were transhipped to the ship Wairoa during the afternoon. The Union Company's steamer Waihora, Captain Edio, from Melbourne via Southern parts, arrived here at noon to-day, after an eighteen hours trip from "Wellington. She was met and tendered on arrival by the Boojuni for mails and passengers, and by the kefoh Admiral for her cargo, some ~>l) tons. Besides a small quantity of general, goods tho Waihora will take tho steam launch Leisure Hours and some SOO sheep away from hero for Auckland. The Westland is bound for Wellington, and she passed the heads at 0 p.m. yesterday Sailed, yesterday, Duncdin, ship, for London, with two passengers and a full cargo.
