Mr Anderson, Minister of Police, is seriously ill, and his condition is considered critical by his medical attendants.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company held their second wool sale of the season to-day. The catalogue comprised 2020 bales, of which 1970 were sold at very satisfactory prices, American buyers especially competing for the better sorts with much spirit. Firm rates are now established for good wool.
