LAND SALES.
Auckland, Ihis day. The Surrey Hills estate, a meadow of 400 acres outside the city, which was offered to the City Council for £100,000 by the Hon. James Williamson six months ago, has been cut into allotments, and the sale commenced yesterday. Two comer sections fetched respectively £40 and £36 per foot, nnd the other allotments fetched from £5 to £10 per foot. The sale of 67 allotments fetched £20,227. The estate contains upwards of 2,000 allotments. Sales of Crown lands in various parts of the province yesterday realised £0302.
