At the inquest on the body of Edward Di , inkwell the jury returned a verdict of accidental death j but the evidence was contradictory as to the presence of ;me guard. Tho train consisted of sixty trucks and had two engines, each with a driver and tireman. One witness said that the jerk which threw deceased off the truck was caused by the inexperience of the fireman, who was driving instead of the driver. Other evidence was to the effect that the jerk was no greater than was inevitable with so large a ballast train.
