Some Makani. quartz brought to the Thames for crushing has yielded at the Herald battery -15 ounces of amalgam from 10 tons of stone. One lot of 5S bags pro-duced-13.k>zs : the other Uozs. When retorted the result was IGozs lOdwts of richer color than ordinary Thames metal.
