MAILS CLOSE For Gisborne, Tauranga, and Auckland, jier Taiaroa, this day, at 8 p.m. The British Queen leaves Lyttelton for London on Saturday, the 27th instant. For the Sandwich Islands, America, AVcst Indies, the United Kingdom, Continent of Europe, kc, via San Francisco, on Saturday, the 3rd of November, at noon. The Orient steamers will leave Melbourne for London on 19th October, 2nd and 16th November, arriving in London on 27th November, llth and 25th December. Correspondence for this route to bo specially addressed per Orient Steamers ; postage, Sd per half-ounce. J. Ghubb, Chief Postmaster.
