SEAMAN DROWNED.
Hokitika, This day. Captain Laing, of the schooner AVanganui, Avhich arrived yesterday from Dunedin, reports that one of his men, named Peter Oistcr, was lost overboard whilst running through Cook's Straits in a gale of Avind. 'All efforts to save the man Avere unavailing. Ho Avas a Russian by birth, hailing from Riga.
