Our cablegrams disclose a state of affairs in Ireland that is glaringly apparent to everybody in the world except to Irishmen—the utter impossibility of such a thing as a united Ireland. While a section of Ireland is clamoring for Homo Rule England has to keep up in that country an immense force of troops and constabulary to prevent tho people from flying at each other's throats. It is impossible for a nation to prevail that is divided against itself, and a united Ireland is apparently as far off as the Greek Kalends. It has been most industriously circulated that Ireland had found in Mr Parnell its spokesman, but our cable message informs us that it was ouly owing to the presence of strong bodies of military that prevented a collision between the Ulster Orangemen and tho Parnellittw at Dungannon. Wo sincerely trust that tho rumor circulated in London yesterday concerning the murder or suicide of Mr Parnell will prove to bo utterly without, foundation. Later intelligence, we are glad to learn, states that the report is not true.
