NEW STEAMER FOR NAPIER.

AVellinoton, This day. A small steamer of between 70 and eiglity tons, built by Messrs Luke, Sons and AVilliams for Messrs Richardson and Campbell, of Napier, was launched yesterday. _ The steamer was christened AVcka. She is to bo fitted with refrigerating machinery, which Avill arrive from England shortly. The following notice to shipmasters trading to the port of Newcastle has been received by the Secretary of the Marino Department:—" On and after tho Ist of October next the two red lights shown on board the Lady Alicia will be discontinued, and the same two lights will be hoisted from sunset to sunrise on board a permanent light Bhip, moored in nine feet of water near the position of the black buoy, which will also be removed. During foggy weather a bell will bo sounded at short intervals on board the light ship." Christchurch, This day.
