September 21. At to-days avool auction 10,100 bales Averc offered. A firmer tone prevailed. The present series close on the 4th October. September 22 Sir Arthur Blyth, Agent-General for South Australia, lias invited tenders for his Government for a loan of £1,500,000. The minimum is fixed at 98-J-. Sir Anthony Musgrave, the Governor of Queensland, sailed for Brisbane to-day by the Orient Steamship Sorata. A proclamation has been issued by the Irish Executive declaring certain parts of tho County of Mayo, Clare, and Limerick to be disturbed districts. The force of Constabulary now stationed there is found to be insufficient to preserve order, and is to be strengthened. Tho Daily News, in its issue this morning, publishes a telegram from its correspondent in Natal stating that a message was sent by the Governor of that colony to Octcwayo requiring Ids surrender, but it was not in the form of an ultimatum.

It has transpired that- the post of Financial Adviser to the Khedive of Egypt has been offered to Mr Edgar Vincent, but that gentleman's acceptance of the position has not yet been notified. The catalogue at to-day's avool auction comprised 10,000 bales, which were offered to a firm market for all but low to inferior qualities, which remain generally dull.
